Rajasthan School Closed: 16 February has been declared a holiday on Devnarayan Jayanti in all government and private schools of Rajasthan. Director of Secondary Education Ashish Modi has issued an order in this regard.

Director of Secondary Education Ashish Modi has issued an order in this regard. Actually, there was no information about holiday in the annual calendar of the Education Department. In such a situation, by amending the Shivra Panchang itself, a holiday has been announced in government and private schools across the state on Devnarayan Jayanti. In this regard, the state government has also announced a holiday earlier. Since the situation in this regard was not clear in the Shivra Panchang, the Education Department has issued an order and announced a holiday.
In such a situation, there will be a holiday in school on Friday. And the school will open again on Saturday. Last year also the government had announced a holiday on Devnarayan Jayanti. The Director has informed the Board of Secondary Education Ajmer, SIERT Udaipur as well as the Director of Elementary Education regarding this order.
Who is Lord Devnarayan?
Lord Devnarayan is considered to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. According to mythological beliefs, Devnarayan was born in the house of Raja Sawai Bhoj in Malaseri village of Asind assembly constituency in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan. Lord Devnarayan is worshiped as a cow protector, a folk deity who relieves the suffering of helpless people and a mighty warrior. Lord Shri Devnarayan is worshiped by a large number of devotees from different societies in Rajasthan and other states.
