School Closed: Severe cold and cold wave continues in Uttar Pradesh. Due to which Agra district administration has increased the holidays in schools. There is a possibility that holidays may increase in other districts of UP also.
School Closed: Severe cold and cold wave is currently continuing in North India. The Meteorological Department has predicted an increase in cold wave across the state for the next three days. Due to this, holidays have been declared in schools in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. Holidays have been declared till January 13 in many districts including Lucknow, Ballia, Gautam Buddha Nagar. Since January 14 is a Sunday, schools are to open from January 15. But due to fog and severe cold, there is hope of extending the holidays once again. In this sequence, the holiday in Agra district has been extended till January 20.
Agra District Magistrate Bhanuchandra Goswami has ordered the closure of schools up to class five of all boards including UP Board till January 20 due to extreme cold.
Relief to 12th class students also
The District Magistrate has also given great relief to the children up to class 12th. Due to Makar Sankranti on 15th January, schools up to 12th will also remain closed on this day. After this, from January 16, schools of class six and above will open from 11 am to 3:30 pm. These orders will also be applicable in Kasturba Gandhi schools.
