Summer Holiday: Jharkhand Education Department has extended the summer holidays in all schools from KG to 8th class due to the scorching heat and heatwave. At the same time, there has been a change in the school timings of the children of class 9th to 12th.
Summer Holiday: Due to the scorching heat and heat wave, the Jharkhand Education Department has decided to close all the schools in the state again. Keeping in mind the safety of children from KG to 8th class, it has been decided to close all private and government schools with immediate effect till June 21, 2023. Although the schools for the children of class 9th to 12th will open, but the school timings have been changed.
In the notice issued by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of Jharkhand, it is written that modifying the notice issued on 14 June 2023 and keeping in mind the extreme heat and heatwave in the state of Jharkhand, all categories of government, non-government aid Aided / unaided (including minority) and all private schools from KG to 8th will remain closed from June 19 (Monday) to June 21 (Wednesday). At the same time, classes from 9th to 12th will run from 07 am to 11 am.
Earlier, summer vacations were declared in schools in the state till June 14, which was amended to close the schools till June 17 and the schools from ninth to 12th till June 15. Now schools from 9th to 12th class will be opened but in new timing (morning shift). At the same time, schools for children from KG to 8th class can open from 22 June.
The Meteorological Department said that the maximum temperature in most districts of the state remained around 40 degrees Celsius, while in the south and northwest parts the temperature crossed the 40-degree mark. Let us tell you that apart from Jharkhand, many states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh have extended the summer vacation of schools due to the scorching heat and heat wave.
