IMD has predicted rain and thundershowers in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Puducherry till December 4. Due to heavy rains, schools and colleges are closed in many places including Chennai.
Schools Holiday: Schools in Puducherry and Karaikal districts will remain closed on December 4, 2023. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the students against cyclone ‘Mikong’. In case of any queries or confusion, parents and students should contact the school authorities.
Let us tell you that till now there has been no official confirmation regarding holidays in schools of Tamil Nadu. There is a possibility that the closure of schools will be announced as the authorities will not risk the lives of students.
Cyclone Michong is forming over the Bay of Bengal. Some areas are affected due to waterlogging which ultimately results in traffic jams and other disruptions. Also, IMD has issued orange alert for Chennai and neighboring areas for December 2 and 3, 2023.
Eighteen teams are available for Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Puducherry, while ten more teams are expected to be ready soon. Cyclone Michong is expected to move west-northwestwards, strengthen into a depression on December 2 and then into a cyclonic storm on December 3 over southwest Bay of Bengal.
