In view of heavy rains in Uttarakhand, a holiday has been declared for schools. In Champawat, on August 12, a holiday has been declared in government and non-government schools following the possibility of heavy rains in the district. In fact, a red alert has been issued for heavy rains in Tehri Garhwal, Dehradun, Pauri, Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar. After which Champawat District Officer Navneet Pandey has declared a holiday on August 12 in Anganwadi centers including schools from 1st to 12th. An order has also been issued for this.

After which 5 days holiday was declared for the students this whole week. The possibility of extremely heavy rain has been expressed at some places in Garhwal Mandal district. After which a decision has been taken by the government. Orders for this have been issued by District Magistrate Ashish Chauhan.

From August 12 to August 15, there is a possibility of heavy rain and very heavy rain at some places in Nainital district. It is raining heavily in the mountainous and plains. Due to which the rivers and drains have come in spate, the District Magistrate Vandana has also declared a holiday on August 12 in schools and Anganwadi centers from 1st to 12th. If 13th August happens to be a Sunday, the school will be operational from 14th August.
