School Holiday: The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has extended the school holidays till October 6, after which the schools will now reopen on October 7. Earlier, a five-day holiday was declared from September 27 to October 2 after the quarterly examinations. However, teacher organizations had requested that they need more time to evaluate the examination papers. In view of this request, the department has decided to keep all schools, including government-aided and private schools, closed till October 6.
In fact, quarterly examinations for all classes were held between September 20 and September 27, 2024. The teachers reportedly demanded an extension of the holiday period so that they could get additional time to fully evaluate and grade the examination papers of the students. In view of this request, the department decided to extend the holidays.
Apart from this, due to the event of Ram Barat and Janakpuri, today on Saturday, the Agra district administration decided to keep all schools up to Inter closed, but the order was canceled shortly after. At the same time, in view of heavy rains in Ayodhya, an order has been issued to keep all schools from pre-primary to 12th closed on Saturday.
The Agra district administration had earlier ordered that all government, convent and public schools will remain closed. After this announcement, a large number of parents and students contacted the District Magistrate over the phone on Friday evening. ADM City Anoop Kumar said that the holiday order was issued, but it was canceled within one and a half hours.
On the other hand, Ayodhya DIOS Dr. Pawan Tiwari said that in view of heavy rainfall, all schools from pre-primary to 12th will remain closed. This order will apply to all schools of secondary and CBSE board. If any school violates this instruction or a complaint is received, strict action will be taken against the concerned school.
