A high alert has been declared in Aligarh and Hathras after warning of heavy rain and thunderstorm. In Aligarh, schools from nursery to 12th standard will remain closed on Thursday, while in Hathras, holidays have been declared for schools up to 12th standard on 12th and 13th September. The weather department has predicted rain and thunderstorm, due to which an advisory has been issued for safety and protection.

Aligarh DM Visakh G. has ordered to keep all government and convent schools from nursery to 12th closed on Thursday. AMU schools will also remain closed.
At the same time, an orange alert has been issued regarding the continuous rain in Hathras. In view of the possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorm, holidays have been declared on 12th and 13th September in schools up to 12th.
In fact, it rained throughout the day on Wednesday as well, due to which the maximum temperature fell by 4.8 degrees and the minimum by 3.2 degrees Celsius. Waterlogging conditions were created in many areas of the city and countryside. Due to strong wind and rain, paddy crops fell in some areas.
Advisory issued for safety and protection
After the warning by the Meteorological Department, Aligarh DM has issued an advisory for safety and protection and appealed to stay safe. The advisory says that in case of heavy rain and lightning, take shelter under a concrete roof.
In case there is no safe shelter nearby, sit in a squatting position with the heels of both feet joined together and the head bent on the toes. Cover the ears with hands.
If you are traveling by vehicle, then keep all the windows of the vehicle up and stay in the vehicle. Stay away from windows, doors and verandas in houses. Avoid coming in contact with electrical equipment or wires. Take shelter in a strong building or vehicle. Stay away from open fields or high places.
