School Winter Holiday 2024-25: In view of the changing weather and increasing cold, many states of North India have announced winter vacation (Winter Vacation 2024) before the new year. Schools in many states including Delhi, MP, Rajasthan are included.
In some states, schools have been closed from December 25, while in many, the holiday will start from January 1. Although the situation regarding the winter holiday of UP is not clear yet, there is a possibility that an announcement may be made this week. Here, in January, schools will be closed on 5, 12, 19 and 26 January due to Sunday. Schools will be closed on January 17 on Guru Govind Singh Jayanti. 26 January is Republic Day but due to Sunday on this day, one holiday will be reduced.
Winter holidays started in these states
Punjab: Winter vacation has started from 24 December 2024 and winter vacation will continue till 31 December 2024. After this, from January 1, 2025, schools will open at their scheduled time as before.
Jammu and Kashmir: Winter vacation has started from 10 December 2024 for school students up to class 5 and schools will remain closed till 28 February 2025. The winter vacation for classes 6 to 12 has also started from 16 December 2024 and schools will remain closed till 28 February 2025.
Bihar: Winter vacation has started from 25 December, which will last till 31 December 2024. Now schools will open from the new year i.e. 1 January.
Jharkhand: Ranchi University will have winter vacation from 25 to 31 December. The university will also remain closed on January 1, so now it will open on 2 January. As per the previously released academic calendar 2024 – 25, there will be a holiday in government schools from 25 December to 5 January 2025. January 5 is Sunday. After this, government schools across the state will open on January 6.
Rajasthan: Holidays have started in schools from 25 December. Winter vacation will be till January 5. This order is for both government and private schools. If any private school violates the order and calls children to school, strict action will be taken against it. All government and private colleges will have winter holidays from 25 to 31 December.
Winter Vacation from January in these states
Haryana and Delhi: Both the states will have winter holidays from 1 to 15 January which will be applicable to all government and private schools.
Madhya Pradesh: Schools will have winter vacation from 31 December 2024 to 4 January 2025, but after this there is a Sunday holiday on 5 January, so the operation of schools will start from Monday 6 January.
