
On the instructions of Varanasi DM S Raj Lingam, District Basic Education Officer Dr Arvind Kumar Pathak has again directed all schools to run classes from class 1 to class 8 in online mode till February 14.
School Holiday 2025: There is good news for school students of Punjab and Haryana. The Punjab and Haryana government has declared a holiday in government schools and non-government educational institutions on Wednesday, February 12, due to Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji. Schools will also remain closed in MP, UP and Delhi due to Ravidas Jayanti.
Pathankot Deputy Commissioner has declared half day holiday on February 10 in all government/non-government schools and colleges falling within the limits of Pathankot. This holiday will be after noon. However, there will be no holiday in those schools/colleges where board/university examinations are scheduled. Information has been sent to the concerned departments including the District Education Officer in this regard.
Holiday announced again in these states
- According to the holiday schedule of Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council, all schools will remain closed on Wednesday, 12 February. This order will be applicable to all schools controlled by Basic Education Council, in addition, there will be a holiday in schools on 26 February as well. On this day, there will be a public holiday in all places like banks, courts, government offices. This order has been issued for schools from class 1 to class 8.
- Varanasi district administration has again declared holiday in all schools up to class 8 in urban areas till 14 February. During this time, classes of all council / government / aided and English / Hindi medium schools recognized / aided by (CBSE ICSC) and run by other boards will be conducted online. Kashi Vidyapeeth examinations have been postponed till 15 February.
- In view of the large crowd of devotees in Ayodhya Dham on Magh Purnima, Ayodhya District Magistrate Chandra Vijay Singh has announced to keep all schools from pre-primary to 12th closed from 11th to 14th February. This order will be applicable to all government and non-government aided and private recognized schools in the Ayodhya Dham area of the Municipal Corporation Ayodhya. However, no change has been made in the dates of practical exams of the board examination. All exams will be conducted on the scheduled dates only.
- Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has declared a holiday on Ravidas Jayanti on February 12. The notification issued by the General Administration Department said that the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi declares a holiday in all government offices, autonomous bodies and public undertakings of the Delhi Government on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti on February 12, 2025.
- On the instructions of Mirzapur District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan, BSA Anil Kumar Verma has issued an order saying that students from nursery to class VIII in all board schools of Sadar Tehsil will have a holiday from February 11 to 13. Teachers will reach school and fulfil their duties. Holiday has been declared in UP Board, CBSE, ICSE Board schools from nursery to class 8.
Schools will remain closed for so many days in February
- Schools may remain closed in Maharashtra and some other states due to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti on 19 February.
- Schools may remain closed in many states due to Mahashivratri on 26 February.
- Schools will remain closed on 16 and 23 February due to Sunday.
- All schools up to class 5 in Jammu and Kashmir are closed from 10 December 2024 and will remain closed till 28 February 2025. Schools from class 6 to 12 are closed from 16 December 2024 and will remain closed till 28 February 2025, in such a situation, schools will now open only in March.
