Odisha School Holiday: The holiday calendar of Odisha schools has been released. The School and Mass Education Department of Odisha has released the new academic calendar. This calendar will be applicable to all primary and secondary schools in the state for the session 2025-26. This calendar has complete information about study days, holidays, exam dates and school timings.
When will there be summer vacation in Odisha
Summer vacation will be from 6 May to 19 June 2025. Schools will remain completely closed during this period. School timings will be from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on normal days. On Saturdays, classes will run only from 6:30 am to 12:30 pm. Teachers’ presence will be mandatory from 10 am to 4 pm.
The total number of working days will be 231, while there will be 82 holidays in the whole year, out of which 52 are Sundays.

- Summer holidays: 6 May to 19 June 2025
- Puja holidays: 29 September to 7 October 2025
- Christmas holidays: 23 December to 31 December 2025
Every Sunday is a holiday (total 52 Sundays)
There will also be holidays on other major festivals and national holidays, such as Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Deepawali, Holi etc. And their dates will be decided separately as per the instructions of the government.
When will the exams be held
First semester exam: Fourth week of July 2025
Summative-1: Fourth week of September 2025
Formative-2: First week of January 2026
Summative-2: Third week of March 2026
Revision week: Second week of February 2026
Class 10 annual exam: Last week of February 2026
Class 9 exam: Second week of March 2026
The education department has instructed all school authorities to work according to this calendar. Students and parents have been advised to keep in touch with their respective schools so that they can stay updated with any changes or new information.
