Schools and colleges closed, internet shut down, silence on the roads in this state; Know what is the reason

Curfew has been imposed in the entire area after violence broke out in Haldwani, Uttarakhand over the removal of illegal mosque and tomb. Internet service has been stopped and schools and colleges will also not open today. Let us tell you that so far four people have died in this violence while more than 100 policemen are injured.

There was a huge uproar in Haldwani, Uttarakhand on Thursday over the removal of illegal madrasa and mosque and the miscreants created a ruckus. The team that had come to remove illegal construction in Banbhulpura area was first pelted with stones and then became rowdy and furious after the police resorted to lathi charge.

The angry mob set fire to many places and burnt dozens of vehicles. So far four people have died in this violence while more than 100 policemen are injured and are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Curfew in Haldwani, schools and colleges will remain closed

To maintain law and order, District Magistrate Vandana Singh has imposed Section 144 in the entire area. Curfew has been imposed in Haldwani city which will continue till further orders. Because of this there is silence on the streets of the city. Apart from this, the police have taken many other strict steps.

No person is allowed to leave the house except for essential purposes (except for medical needs). All commercial institutions, shops, schools-colleges, industries etc. will remain completely closed in the district. Only hospitals and medicine shops will remain open. Internet has been closed in the district so that anti-social elements are not able to spread rumors through it.

Will not be able to travel without permission

However, this order will not apply to government servants, policemen and armed forces. For urgent work, travel will be allowed only with the permission of the City Magistrate, Haldwani. Action will be taken against people violating this order under section 188 of IPC.

Strict action will be taken against miscreants: CM

After the violence in Haldwani, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhani called an emergency meeting. After his meeting with senior officials, Dhami said, ‘A team of the administration had gone to Banbhulpura area to remove encroachments in compliance with the court order.’

He said, ‘Unruly elements clashed with the police and committed arson. Curfew has been imposed and additional companies of security forces have been deployed. Police and central paramilitary forces are being sent to Haldwani to maintain order. CM has asked everyone to maintain peace, strict action will be taken against the miscreants who commit arson.
