The continuous rain in Central UP and Braj region has caused havoc. Due to which the DM has issued an order to keep schools up to 12th standard closed in nine districts on 19th September.

Schools Holiday: Due to continuous rain in many districts of UP, the district administration has declared holiday on September 19 in all board schools from class nursery to 12th in four more districts late on Wednesday night. According to the order of the district administration, schools and colleges up to class 12th will remain closed in Meerut, Bulandshahr, Hapur and Shamli. Meerut’s Basic Education Officer Asha Chaudhary said that on the basis of the weather department report, on the instructions of the DM, holiday has been declared on September 19 in all schools from class nursery to 12th. This order will be applicable to schools of all boards. Apart from this, if there is an exam, then that too will not be held. Schools should also decide the next date for the exam. Earlier, holiday has been declared for schools up to class 12th in five districts of Braj.

Let us tell you that due to cyclonic conditions, continuous rain with strong winds wreaked havoc in Central UP and Braj Mandal. It has rained for about 16 hours in Braj Mandal. Due to this havoc of rain, paddy, chilli and millet crops have suffered heavy losses. After continuous rain for three days four days ago, Braj once again came under the grip of heavy rain on Tuesday. In the 16 hours of rain from Tuesday night to Wednesday evening, more than 92 mm of rain was recorded in Agra.

Nearly 150 kutcha and pucca houses are reported to have collapsed. Hundreds of electric poles and trees have fallen. An old man died after being buried under a collapsed house in Mainpuri. 40 people have been injured in this. In view of the weather department’s forecast of rain on September 19, the DM has issued an order to keep schools closed till class 12 in Agra, Mathura, Firozabad, Etah and Kasganj.
