UPSC exam: In view of the corona epidemic, the candidates preparing for civil service had demanded an additional chance in the UPSC examination, the hearing of which has already started in the Supreme Court. Know what the whole matter is, what happened in the court.

The corona epidemic has changed a lot in the educational world. During this time due to the lockdown, schools have been closed from college to coaching classes. Due to this, students preparing for competitive exams have also faced a lot of problems.

Citing all these problems, the aspirants of the civil service had filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a second additional chance of UPSC examination. The Supreme Court started hearing on this on Monday. It was emphasized in the hearing that due to COVID-19, UPSC should be given additional opportunity to take the exam.

ASG SV Raju said that I have instructions to ask for postponement of exam till the first week of February. The government is actively considering it. On this the bench said that this should not happen. He said that by next Friday, you should have instructions. Senior advocate CU Singh said that we are very concerned about this. At present, this matter has now been adjourned.

Explain that in view of the Corona epidemic, the candidates preparing for civil service had demanded an additional chance in the UPSC examination.

What is the whole matter, the

central government is considering giving the UPSC candidates whose last is an opportunity, another chance of examination. Let us know that on December last, the Central Government had told the Supreme Court that the Government and Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) are considering the proposal to give additional opportunity to the Corona affected civil service candidates. The Center had said in the Supreme Court that a proposal to give an additional opportunity to the civil service candidates affected by Kovid-19 between the government and the Union Public Service Commission i.e. UPSC is under consideration.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, before a bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar, had said that the Center and UPSC would take a decision on the said proposal. We are not taking any adverse stand on this. After this, the bench set the next date in the case on 11 January 2021. Let us know that even before this, the Center had said in the Supreme Court that the matter of giving additional opportunity is being considered. The government argues that when the guidelines of the Civil Services Examination 2021 are decided, then this issue will be considered.
