As the temperatures soar across the country and many places are under strict lockdown, staying at home is the best way to spend this weekend. It naturally comes along with the option of watching your favourite shows and movies. Take a look at our list of five shows and movies on Sun NXT, Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar that you can watch today:
THE BOLD TYPE – NETFLIX
An office drama set in the day-to-day workings of Scarlet, a women’s magazine, The Bold Type makes for a really good watch. In order to publish an issue periodically, the staffers shouldn’t just be good at their own jobs but they also have to be there for each other as everyone goes through their own, sometimes difficult journeys. The Bold Type is like a warm hug with a lot of lessons on friendship and love and can be your perfect Sunday viewing. The show stars Melora Hardin, Katie Stevens among others in pivotal roles.
DEAR COMRADE – SUN NXT
Vijay Devarkonda stars as Bobby, a student in a college who is also highly active as a union leader. His anger issues are causing him trouble but that’s when he meets Lilly, a state-level cricketer who is calm and an absolute opposite to Bobby. This unexpected pairing fits like a puzzle but his temper begins to come in the way as the plot thickens. Dear Comrade is a really good film with enough twists and turns that will keep you interested.
BADLA – NETFLIX
A good plot and how well it is set up is always the bedrock of any good thriller. And the first scene of Badla does exactly that. Naina Sethi (Taapsee Pannu) is meeting with Badal Gupta (Amitabh Bachchan) to tell her account of a fateful night where a photographer is found dead in a hotel room in a European countryside by the police. While Naina was the only other person in the room and is naturally accused of committing the crime, she will have none of it.
I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE – DISNEY+ HOTSTAR
Mark Ruffalo excels in his double role as Thomas and Dominik Birdsey, identical twins who are at the crossroads. The show follows both their lives parallelly in a story that turns from betrayal to sacrifice to ultimately, forgiveness. It’s a riveting watch and a miniseries with just six episodes, it is sure to make you watch the entire series in one go.
CRIMINAL (UNITED KINGDOM) – NETFLIX
If you want something that is so intriguing and slow-burning that you can totally get lost in it, Criminal may just be the one you are looking for. This two-season-long anthology series is nothing but questioning between cops and the accused and the way each case is handled is the beauty in this series. With appearances from Kunal Nayyar, Kit Harrington, David Pennant and more, Criminal is your perfect dose of crime and mystery this Sunday.
