KKR won the toss and invited Mumbai Indians to bat first. Andre Russell took five wickets and the entire team of Mumbai Indians were bowled out for 152 runs. In reply, KKR’s score was 122 runs for three wickets in 14.5 overs at one time. KKR needed 31 runs off 31 balls with seven wickets remaining. The Mumbai Indians bowlers then bowled so tightly against the KKR batsmen that the team fell behind the target.
