Senior Citizen Pension: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, along with Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj, gave the gift of pension to the people of Delhi in the form of increased amount and said that now more than 5 lakh 30 thousand senior citizens in Delhi will get pension of Rs 2500.
5 lakh 30 thousand people will get pension
Arvind Kejriwal said that this time 80 thousand new pensions are being opened. When our government was formed in 2015, 3.32 lakh elderly people used to get pension. Aam Aadmi Party increased the pension by 1.25 lakh in its government. About 4.50 lakh pensions were being given till now. Now by adding 80 thousand more, more than 5.30 lakh people will get pension.
Elderly people will get pension of Rs 2500
Arvind Kejriwal has said that the difference between BJP and AAP government is clear. In states with double engine government (BJP), the elderly are getting pension of only 500 to 1000 rupees. Whereas in single engine government (AAP) in Delhi, the elderly will get pension up to 2500 rupees. The loss from BJP’s double engine government is more, AAP’s engine is the right one for the people of Delhi.
Kejriwal said that “Today I am very happy that pension is being resumed for about 5.5 lakh senior citizens of Delhi. More than 10 thousand applications have been received within 24 hours of the portal being launched. BJP had committed the sin of stopping the pension of senior citizens by conspiring. But now your son has come, he will get all your work done.”
Who gets how much pension in Delhi?
Arvind Kejriwal, while comparing the pension given to senior citizens of Delhi with other states, said that in Delhi, people between 60 and 69 years of age get a pension of Rs 2000. Before the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government, this pension was Rs 1000. After our government was formed, we increased it by another 1000. Senior citizens above 70 years of age are getting a pension of Rs 2500. Earlier, this pension used to be Rs 1500.
How much pension in which state
Kejriwal told that senior citizens get a pension of Rs 1150 in Rajasthan. In Uttar Pradesh, pension of Rs 1000 per month is given. In Gujarat, the pension is Rs 700 per month and in Chhattisgarh, it is Rs 6.50 hundred per month. In Madhya Pradesh, the pension is Rs 650 per month. In Maharashtra, the pension is Rs 600, in Odisha Rs 300, in Assam Rs 500 and in Goa, the pension is Rs 500 per month.
