SFDR: India successfully tests SFDR Technology’s ‘strong’ missile

New Delhi: The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) on Friday successfully test-fired the missile with the help of solid fuel ducted ramjet (SFDR) technology from the test range at Odisha. Official sources gave this information. DRDO states that all sub-systems including ground booster motor performed as expected during this test. Significantly, the successful testing performance of SFDR technology will help DRDO develop long-range air-to-air missiles.

According to DRDO, currently this technology is available with select countries only. He said that this test was done at around 10:30 am on Friday from the Integrated Test Range of Chandipur in Odisha. Sources said that it was monitored by senior scientists of various DRDO laboratories during the test. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has sent congratulations to the DRDO scientists and the Air Force for this successful test. Sources said that the Secretary, Department of Defense Research and Development and the President of DRDO, G Satish Reddy have also congratulated the team members involved in the flight test.
