Shardiya Navratri 2024: In Hinduism, worshiping the 9 forms of Maa Durga during Navratri is considered to be especially fruitful. Every year there are 4 Navratris. Which includes two Gupt Navratri, Chaitra Navratri and Shardiya Navratri. According to Pandit Anirudh Jha of Bausi Kamdhenu, this year the Pratipada date of Shardiya Navratri will start on 2 October 2024 at 11:13 pm and will end the next day on 3 October at 1:19 am. Therefore, according to the Udayatithi, Shardiya Navratri will start from 03 October. At the same time, it will end on 12 October. This year both the arrival and departure of Maa Durga are considered to be troublesome. Goddess Bhagwati will come on a doli this year and will depart on an elephant. It is believed that the year the mother arrives on a doli, that year there is disease, grief and natural disaster in the country. At the same time, departure on an elephant is considered a sign of excessive rainfall. Let’s know the auspicious time, material and method of Kalash installation..

Kalash Sthapana Muhurta: Kalash Sthapana is done on the first day of Sharadiya Navratri. This year, the auspicious time for Kalash Sthapana is from 6:07 am to 9:30 am on October 3. After this, Kalash can be installed in Abhijit Muhurta from 11:37 am to 12:23 pm.

Kalash Sthapana Material: In Hinduism, setting up Kalash is considered important in all auspicious works. It is considered a symbol of happiness, prosperity and wealth. For Kalash Sthapana in Navratri, water, betel leaf, Akshat, Kumkum, mango leaf, Moli, Roli saffron, Durva-Kush, betel nut, flower, thread, coconut, grain, red cloth, barley, 1-2 rupee coin etc. are used in the Kalash.

Method of Kalash Sthapana:

While setting up the Kalash on the first day of Navratri, first invoke all the gods and goddesses.

Now tie a mauli on the Kalash filled with Gangajal and the pot of barley. Also put betel nut, durva grass, Akshat and coin in the water.

Now place 5 mango leaves on the edges of the Kalash and cover it with a lid.

Take a coconut and wrap it with a red cloth or dupatta. Tie a mauli on the coconut.

After this, to set up the Kalash and barley, first of all clean the ground properly.

After this, keep the vessel containing barley. Place the Kalash on it and then place a coconut on the lid of the Kalash.

Then start the ritualistic worship of Navratri by invoking all the gods and goddesses.

After installing the Kalash, it should be kept in the temple for nine days. Keep adding water as per the need in the morning and evening.
