Apart from the weekly holiday on Saturday and Sunday, there are 3 days holiday in the stock market in this month i.e. March 2024. The first of these holidays was on March 8 on the occasion of Mahashivratri, which has passed. But, apart from the weekly holidays in the month of March, the domestic stock market is going to remain closed for two days. There will be no trading on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on both these days.
Information about these holidays has already been given on the websites of both the exchanges i.e. NSE and BSE. According to the information given on the websites of the exchanges, all trading activities in the equity segment, equity derivative segment and SLB segment will be closed in the stock market on these two days in March.
On which day is the stock market closed in March?
This month, the domestic stock market will be closed on 25th March (Monday) on the occasion of Holi. There will be no trading in equity segment, equity derivative segment and SLB segment on both the exchanges on this day. After this, the stock market will remain closed on 29th March (Friday) also on the occasion of Good Friday. Since both these holidays are in the same week, the markets will be open only for three days this week.
This information has also been given on the exchanges that there will be no work in the currency derivatives segment on March 25 and March 29.
Is the commodity market also closed?
According to the list of holidays in the stock market in the year 2024, morning trading in the commodity and electronic gold receipt (EGR) segments, i.e. trading from 9 am to 5 pm, will be closed on March 25 on the occasion of Holi. But, trading will remain open for the evening session on MCX. Trading will continue in the commodity derivatives segment and electronic gold receipt (EGR) segment for the session from 5 pm to 9 am.
On March 29, on the occasion of Good Friday, business will remain closed in the morning and evening segments.
When will the stock market be closed this year?
Apart from weekly holidays, domestic stock markets will remain closed for a total of 10 days in 2024. Stock markets will remain closed for two days in April, May-June-July-August and one day each in October. Apart from this, the market will be closed for 2 days in the month of November. Whereas, the market will be closed for 1 day in the month of December.
