Side effects of Tomato: from kidney stone to joint pains, eating more tomatoes has many disadvantages.

Side effects of Tomato: Anything is very bad, we all know this. Something like this is also with tomato with many benefits. On one hand, eating tomatoes is beneficial for health, while eating more tomatoes can also harm health.

New Delhi: From tomatoes to salads to soups and vegetables, our dish tastes a bit incomplete without tomato, right? Vitamin C, potassium, folate and vitamin K as well as tomatoes rich in lycopene and antioxidants are beneficial for health in many ways (Benefits of Tomato). Tomato helps in keeping the heart healthy as well as protecting it from cancer. But since tomatoes are sour, eating too many tomatoes can also cause health damage.

1. Kidney stone risk- Since tomato contains more oxalate and calcium, these things start accumulating in the body many times, due to which the risk of kidney stone increases. So eat tomatoes but in limited quantity.




2. Joints pain and swelling due to eating too many tomatoes also increases the risk of joint pain and swelling. There is a compound in tomato, due to which calcium starts to accumulate in the tissues and due to inflammation, there is a problem of joint pain.

3. Allergy can be caused by eating more tomatoes- A compound called histamine is found in tomatoes, due to which there can be an allergy risk. If someone eats too much tomato, problems like cough, sneeze, eczema, skin rashes, itchy throat, swelling on the face can be seen.

4. Acid reflux- Tomatoes contain both malic acid and citric acid and hence eating too much tomatoes can cause chest irritation or acid reflux (Acid Reflux).

5. Diarrhea- There are also many tomatoes that contain salmonella bacteria due to which there may be a risk of stomach upset and diarrhea. Apart from this, some people may also have problems of tomato intolerance. If such people eat tomatoes, their stomach may get upset and there may be diarrhea problem.
