KK wanted to become a doctor in childhood. KK studied at Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi. After graduating in commerce from Delhi University, KK worked in a hotel. KK left the hotel job after eight months. KK got married in the year 1991.

KK moved to Mayanagari Mumbai in 1994, about three years after his marriage. KK, who arrived in Mumbai in search of his dream, started looking for a break in the world of singing. KK got a break from a UTV commercial in 1994 and then started Krishnakumar Kunnath’s journey to become the famous singer of Bollywood. KK got a break in Bollywood with the song ‘Chhod Aaye Hum’ from the film Maachis and the whole world knows what happened after that. KK never looked back and went on giving superhit songs one after the other. Before coming to Bollywood, KK sang about 3500 jingles.

Talking about KK’s popular songs, ‘Yaaron’ was very popular. Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Aishwarya Rai’s film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’s song ‘Tadap-Tadap Ke Is Dil Se’, ‘Khuda Jaane’ from Bachna Ae Haseeno, ‘Zindagi Do Pal Ki’ from Kites, ‘Zara’ from Jannat Sa’, Gangster’s song ‘Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai’, Shah Rukh Khan’s film Om Shanti Om’s song ‘Aankhon Mein Teri Ajab Si’ also became very popular.

The song ‘Tu Jo Mila’ from the film Bajrangi Bhaijaan, ‘Aashaye’ by Iqbal and ‘Main Teri Dhadkan’ from Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani also gained a lot of popularity.
