According to the data available on AMFI website, a huge investment of Rs 20245 crore came in the equity category. In this, maximum inflow of Rs 4805 crore was recorded in sectoral funds. After this there was an inflow of Rs 4265 crore in small cap funds.

Talking about the long term performance of Sectoral Funds category, the highest average return of 22 percent has been achieved in the period of 10 years. Six schemes in this category have given returns with a CAGR of more than 20% over a ten-year period. Franklin Build India Fund is the top performer in this. It has given an average return of about 22 percent.

About 10% of the fund is invested in L&T.

Talking about the performance of Franklin Build India Fund, its NAV is Rs 91.5. The size of the fund is Rs 1556 crore. 47.35 percent of this fund is invested in largecap stocks, 13.87 percent in midcap stocks and 23.94 percent in smallcap stocks. Investments have been made in a total of 40 stocks. Larsen & Toubro has the highest holding of 9.87 percent. After this there is investment in NTPC, ICICI Bank and PowerGrid.

This fund has given an average return of 21.91 percent in 10 years to lump sum investors and a lump sum return of 626 percent. If an investor had invested Rs 1 lakh ten years ago, its value today would have been Rs 7.26 lakh.
