The Reserve Bank of India said on Wednesday that under the first series of the Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme 2023-24, cheap gold can be bought between June 19 and June 23. At the same time, the second series of Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme 2023-24 will be issued in September.

What is Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme

This is a special initiative started by the government, under which one can invest in gold at a lower price than the market. This is a government-backed gold bond scheme, in which the security of money invested is guaranteed by the Government of India. This bond scheme is issued by the Reserve Bank of India.

How much is the issue price

The issue price is priced on the basis of the simple average of the closing price of gold of 999 purity on the last three working days prior to the subscription and basis. If you pay online then a discount of Rs 50 per 10 grams is given.

How much gold can i buy

According to the guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India, if you are going to invest in Sovereign Gold Bonds, then you will have to buy at least one gram of gold. At the same time, maximum investment can be made in the name of 4 kg individual, 4 kg HUF and 20 kg trust.

Where can gold be bought

SGB can be bought through all banks, Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL), Clearing Corporation of India Limited (CCIL), through designated post offices. Apart from this, you can also buy it from National Stock Exchange of India Limited and Bombay Stock Exchange Limited.

How much interest is received

You can sell the gold bought in this only at the current rate. The maturity of this scheme is in total 8 years. Wherein you can get out of it in the 5th year. Under this scheme, investors are paid an interest rate of 2.50 per cent. Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme was launched in the year 2015.
