PM Vishwakarma Yojana: Modi government has started many such schemes which are benefiting the poor class. One such scheme is PM Vishwakarma. This scheme was started on 17 September 2023. This year on 17 September, this scheme of PM Modi will be one year old. Let us tell you that the purpose of PM Vishwakarma Yojana is to provide assistance to artisans and craftsmen who work with the help of their hands and tools.
What type of business will benefit
This scheme covers 18 businesses- carpenter, boat maker, weapon maker, blacksmith, hammer and tool kit maker, locksmith, goldsmith, potter, sculptor (sculptor, stone carver), stone breaker, cobbler/shoemaker, mason, basket/mat/broom maker/coir weaver, doll and toy maker (traditional), barber, garland maker, washerman, tailor and artisans and craftsmen engaged in fishing net manufacturing.
Benefits to artisans and craftsmen
(i) Identification: Identification of artisans and craftsmen through PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card.
(ii) Skill upgradation: Basic training of 5-7 days with a stipend of Rs 500 per day and advanced training of 15 days or more.
(iii) Toolkit incentive: Toolkit incentive up to Rs 15,000 in the form of e-voucher at the beginning of basic skill training.
(iv) Loan assistance: Loan up to Rs 3 lakh in the form of ‘Udyam Vikas Loan’ without collateral will be provided in 2 installments of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 2 lakh respectively at a concessional interest rate of 5 percent for a period of 18 months and 30 months with a rebate of up to 8 percent by the Government of India.
Beneficiaries who have completed basic training will be eligible to avail the first tranche of loan assistance up to Rs 1 lakh. The second loan tranche will be available to beneficiaries who have availed the first tranche and maintain a standard loan account and have adopted digital transactions in their business or have received upgraded training.
