The new rule has been implemented to curb accidents caused due to fog and mist in winter. In winter, the number of accidents increases on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway including Yamuna Expressway. That is why the traffic police has reduced the speed limit.

What is the speed limit on Yamuna Expressway

The UP Traffic Police has reduced the speed limit of cars on Yamuna Expressway from 100 kmph to 75 kmph. Similarly, the speed limit of heavy vehicles has also been reduced from 80 kmph to 60 kmph. If any vehicle drives faster than this speed limit, an automatic challan will be issued.

What is the limit on Noida Expressway

The traffic police has also reduced the speed limit of cars on Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. It has been reduced from 100 kmph to 75 kmph for light vehicles like cars etc., while the speed limit of heavy vehicles like trucks and buses has been reduced from 60 kmph to 50 kmph.

Till when will it be applicable and how much is the fine

The traffic police has informed that the speed limit has been implemented on both the expressways from December 15 and it will remain in force till February 15, 2025. Drivers who break this speed limit will also be fined heavily. If light vehicles break the rule, a fine of Rs 2,000 will be imposed and a fine of Rs 4,000 will be imposed on heavy vehicles. Along with this, the traffic police has also installed a new signboard.
