Sushmita’s rift during Miss India

Aishwarya Rai participated in the Miss India Competition in 1994. Where she was the first runner up. After this she had to go for Miss World. In the interview, she said- Oh, the gesture was the same, like Miss India. The whole expectation of all the people was attached to me. But it was very strange and surprising that the same thing happened to me which happened during Miss India. Even if you get everything there, no one judges you. But you would have been representing your country there. Within a month, I had become very popular there. Many Indian and foreign journalists used to come to meet me.

Aishwarya further said- Out of the rest of the selected contestants, my name was being taken as the strongest contestant. It was believed that I would win. I felt that this could not happen back with me. I didn’t like that feeling. Aishwarya told that all this happened to her even during Miss India, her name was being shown exaggeratedly. When she lost to Sushmita, then because of all these things, a whole spectacle was created in the media. It was said that Sushmita and Aishwarya do not like each other. Aishwarya was upset with all these things.

Broken dress zip

At the same time, another anecdote happened with Aishwarya. Aishwarya said- The zip of my final gown was broken before leaving for Miss India. These are small things. And it is not that I am any superstitious but the zip of my dress was broken. My gown was left there with the designer in Goa. The same thing happened during the Miss World competition as well. The evening when I had to leave for the contest, the zip of the dress got torn during the final trials. She had to do a complete repair. That dress came later. I had never felt worse than this.

Although Aishwarya had already won the crown of Miss World. In the same year, Sushmita Sen had illuminated the name of India by winning the title of Miss Universe. Aishwarya is still counted among the most beautiful women of India. Her popularity is spread all over the world.
