New Delhi. To secure the future of daughters and keeping in mind their education, the government has started Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. Guaranteed interest is available on the amount invested in this scheme.
This account matures after 21 years. Whereas, in this one has to invest only for 15 years. At present the government gives 8 percent interest in this scheme. In this scheme you can invest a minimum of Rs 250 while you can invest Rs 1.5 lakh annually.
How to apply
- If you also want to take advantage of this scheme, then you will have to download the application form of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana from the post office or bank website.
- After filling this form, you will have to attach your photo, child’s birth certificate, parents’ ID proof and other documents.
- After this, submit the form along with the documents to the nearest bank or post office.
- After checking the form and original documents, the employee will open the account in the name of the girl child.
- After this you can invest in the girl’s account.

- To check the balance of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana online, you will have to avail the facility of net banking.
- You have to log in by entering your Username and Password.
- After this, you will see the numbers of all the accounts on the dashboard.
- Now select the option of Account Statement showing on the left side of the screen.
- After this, click on Sukanya account number from the list of all accounts.
- Now your balance will be shown on the screen.
