According to the circular of Bombay Stock Exchange i.e. BSE, there is only one day of public holiday in July, on which the markets will be closed. There will be a holiday in the stock market on the day of Muharram. Muharram is on July 17, which is falling on Wednesday. According to the exchange circular, there will be no trading in equity, equity derivatives, SLB, currency derivatives and interest rate derivatives on the day of Muharram.

Let us tell you that in the stock market, traders trade from 9:15 am to 3:30 pm, which is from Monday to Friday. After this, there is a holiday on Saturday and Sunday. However, the business week is also shorter due to public holidays. For example, there will be no trading on BSE and NSE on July 17 due to Muharram.

How many days will there be a holiday in 2024?

According to the circular issued by the exchange, the markets are going to be closed on July 17 due to Muharram, which is the only holiday in July. Then in August, there will be no trading in the markets on the occasion of Independence Day. Under this, there will be no trading on BSE and NSE on August 15. There will be a holiday in the markets on October 2 due to Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti.

There are 2 public holidays in the month of November. Diwali is on 1st November, the day when Laxmi Puja is performed. On this day the market is open only for Muhurat trading. Then on 25th December, the markets will be closed on the occasion of Christmas.
