The first trading holiday in the year 2025 will be on the auspicious festival of MahaShivratri on Wednesday, 26 February 2025.

BSE and National Stock Exchange have released the schedule of trading holidays for 2025. These holidays will be applicable to all three – Equity Segment, Equity Derivative Segment and SLB Segment. In the year 2025, there will be 14 trading holidays in the stock market apart from Saturday and Sunday. The market will be closed on the occasion of Mahashivratri on 26 February 2025, Holi on 14 March and Eid on 31 March 2025.

The stock market will remain closed on 10 April, Ambedkar Jayanti on 14 April and Good Friday on 18 April. There will be a holiday in the stock market on 1 May due to Maharashtra Day. After this, the market will be closed directly on 15 August, then on 27 August on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October and Dussehra. The market will remain closed on the auspicious occasion of Diwali on 21 October 2025. But on 21 October, Muhurat trading will be done in the market. The markets will remain closed on the next day of Diwali on 22 October. There will be a holiday in the stock market on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti on 5 November and Christmas on 25 December 2025.
