Stock Market Holidays: Headline equity indices Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed for a total of 9 days in the month of September 2024.

Traders and investors should take note of these stock market holidays so that they can plan their trading activities accordingly. The list of holidays is released by the exchanges every year.

Trading on the equities segment typically occurs on all weekdays, barring weekends.

On regular trading days, the stock market operates as follows: the pre-open session starts with order entry and modification opening at 09:00 hrs and closing at 09:08 hrs. The regular trading session for the normal and limited physical market opens at 09:15 hrs and closes at 15:30 hrs. The closing session is held between 15:40 hrs and 16:00 hrs.

Additionally, there are specific block deal session timings: the morning window operates from 08:45 AM to 09:00 AM, and the afternoon window operates from 02:05 PM to 02:20 PM.

MCX September Holidays 2024

There are no trading holidays in the commodity sector in the month of September for both morning and the evening session on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).

The morning session for the MCX beings at 9 am and ends at 5 pm while the evening session operates between 5 pm – 11:30/11:55 pm.

The timings for the special Muhurat trading on the occasion of Diwali on 1st November 2024 will be notified by the exchanges in October.
