Swiggy customer finds a 'bone' in paneer biryani, people scold X

Online Food App Scam: A ‘bone’ was found in a plate of paneer biryani ordered from Hyderabad’s famous Mughlai food franchise Mehfil. This complaint comes a few days after a Mumbai resident claimed to have found a piece of human finger in ice cream last week

Hyderabad News: These days, strange things are being found in the food items ordered online from food delivery apps. The latest case has come from Hyderabad, where Swiggy customer Avinash allegedly found a ‘bone’ in a plate of paneer biryani ordered from a restaurant called Mehfil, a famous Mughlai food franchise in the city. In the past few days, other animals including a live cobra snake, a dead rat, a severed human finger, a dead frog in a packet of chips have been found in online delivery boxes.

Sharing his ordeal on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), Avinash wrote, “I ordered paneer biryani from Mehfil, Nizampet Kukatpally. I found a bone in it.” He also shared a photo of the box he received, which shows something resembling a “bone”.

After this post, many other users criticized and condemned the restaurant for its alleged careless attitude and ignoring safety rules. After the uproar, Swiggy responded to the matter. Swiggy wrote, “Hi, we are very sorry to hear that you have received a non-veg item in your vegetarian order. Please share the order ID so that we can get the details and help you better.”

According to Aniwash, his problem was solved after some time. He wrote in another post, “The problem has been solved, I am sharing it because there are many people suffering like this.”

In fact, Avinash’s x post was in response to a complaint from another x user who allegedly found ‘worms’ in the chicken biryani he ordered from a different outlet of the same franchise. He said that despite complaining to Swiggy, he only got Rs 64 back out of the Rs 318.

Another Hyderabad resident, Sai Teja, claimed that he found a ‘worm’ when he ordered chicken biryani. Teja shared pictures online that allegedly showed a worm in the biryani.

Last week, a couple in Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru was shocked when they found a live poisonous cobra snake in the parcel of goods ordered online from Amazon. The couple said that the snake was stuck to the adhesive tape used for packaging the goods.
