Tatkal Passport: If you have to travel abroad urgently and you do not have a passport, then you can apply for Tatkal passport. It will reach home in just a few days.
If you want to go abroad, you need a passport. You cannot go abroad without a passport.
But it takes time to get a passport. If you have to go abroad immediately for some urgent work, then you can get an instant passport.
If you get a passport made in the normal way, then it takes about 30 to 40 days to get it made. Whereas if you get a Tatkal passport made, then you get it in three to four days.
While you have to pay a fee of Rs 1500 to get a passport made in the normal way, you have to pay extra money to get an instant passport made.
To get an instant passport, you have to pay Rs 500 more than for a normal passport. That means the total fee for this is Rs 2000.
Many times police verification is not required for instant passport. For this you need some documents which include Aadhar card, voter card, birth certificate, PAN card and photo.
