The Mohan Charan Majhi government of Odisha has increased the monthly salary of junior teachers working at the primary and upper primary level of the state. On Friday, the salary of junior teachers of the state was increased from Rs 11,000 to Rs 16,000. In a statement issued from the Chief Minister’s Office, it was told that this increase will benefit about 13,740 teachers across the state. This proposal has been approved by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, which will result in an additional expenditure of Rs 89.15 crore on the state treasury.
EPF will also increase
With this decision, the Odisha government has also increased the contribution to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF). Now the state will contribute Rs 1,950 per month to EPF for each junior teacher, which was Rs 1,443 earlier. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said the decision was part of the government’s efforts to improve the socio-economic conditions of teachers in the state. He also said his government was fully committed to enhancing the welfare of teachers.
Salary increased by this much
Let us tell you that before 26 January, 13,740 junior teachers of the state will get great news in the form of salary. Earlier these junior teachers used to get a monthly salary of Rs 11,000. Now the state government has done a great favor on them and increased their salary by Rs 5,000, making their new salary Rs 16,000 per month. Along with this, the government has given them double happiness, because their EPF has also been increased.
