Around 1000 SSC teachers working in government schools of Himachal Pradesh will be paid their holiday salary. Instructions for this have been given by Education Minister Rohit Thakur. The Directorate of Elementary Education has already paid the holiday salaries to the employees and teachers, while the teachers are continuously demanding payment of the holiday salaries from the Directorate of Higher Education. Teachers were not given their salaries for January and February.

There are 2555 SMC teachers working in the schools of Himachal Pradesh. About 1000 teachers work under the Directorate of Higher Education. Teachers who have not been paid holiday salaries. The salary of 2555 SMC teachers was increased by Rs 2000 every month. Orders were issued to pay increased salary to teachers from April 1, 2023. The spokespersons appointed through SMC are provided a salary of Rs 16978 while TGT will be paid Rs 16978 and JBT will be paid Rs 11362.
