Big preparations have been made by the Uttar Pradesh government. Under this, women teachers posted in secondary schools will be given the benefit of leave on the festival associated with them. Teachers organizations have been demanding this for a long time. After which its orders have been issued by the Director of Secondary Education Mahendra Dev. Under the issued order, they will be provided the benefit of leave on Karva Chauth.

Apart from this, women teachers will also be able to take leave on other festivals related to women. Women teachers observing fast on Ahoi Ashtami including Haritalika Teej, Hariyali Teej, Lalai Chhath, Hal Shashthi, Sankat Chaturthi, Jitiya in a particular area can be given the benefit of leave on the basis of application.
Instructions to Deputy Director of Education and District School Inspectors
On the basis of the application given by the female teachers, the principal of the concerned school will be able to grant leave to the head teachers. However, this approval will be given to women teachers only on the basis of their application. Apart from holidays on these festivals, they will get other holidays as before. It has been clarified in the order issued by the Director of Secondary Education Mahendra Dev. No changes will be made in them. In the order, instructions have also been given to all divisional joint education directors, deputy education directors of the division and district school inspectors.
Earlier, on the basis of the holiday declared by the Uttar Pradesh government on December 8, 2022, the holiday table for the year 2023 has been sent to the school for all the schools. The situation has also been clarified regarding the list of special leave for married women teachers. Earlier, women teachers working in basic schools were given the benefit of leave on Karva Chauth.
