The country’s first private train, Lucknow-New Delhi (82501/82502) and Ahmedabad-Mumbai (82902/82901) Tejas Express are starting their services from today. Last year, it was first closed on 19 March due to Corona virus epidemic. It was resumed on 17 October 2020. But due to low occupancy (booking of tickets), it was decided to close it again. Now it is being started again from 15 February.
Why Tejas Express had to be stopped
It was resumed between Mumbai-Ahmedabad on October 17 after the cancellation of the train service for nearly 7 months in the lockdown implemented in the wake of the Corona virus rescue.
This train has a total of 736 seats. Prior to the Corona epidemic, where this train used to run 50 to 80 percent. In November, this train was running 25 to 40 percent full.
The Tejas Express runs between Delhi and Lucknow 6 days a week. The Tejas Express lasted a total of 21 days from 5 to 28 October. During this time, IRCTC spent about 3 crore rupees on running the train every day for Rs 14 lakh. During this period, IRCTC earned around Rs.17.50 lakh daily from the sale of tickets.

First Tejas Express train was run on Lucknow to Delhi route. After this, the second private train started on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route.
Tejas, the country’s first train in the corporate sector, started from Lucknow to New Delhi about a year ago. This train with modern facilities became very popular among the passengers. This is the first train in the country, which has a rule to give compensation to passengers when it is late.
