Infosys got this tender under an open tender under Integrated e-filing & Centralized Processing Center (CPC 2.0) Project. This tender was awarded to Infosys on the basis of lowest bidder.
This CPC project is worth Rs 4,241.97 crore,
Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary told in the Lok Sabha in response to a written question that Rs 164.5 crore has been paid to Infosys under this project. He said that the Union Cabinet had approved this CPC project of Rs 4,241.97 crore on 16 January-19. This was for 8.5 years. This included GST, rent, postage and project management cost.
Under the same CPC 2.0, on June 7 this year, the government launched a new income tax e-filing portal. Chaudhary said that taxpayers, tax professionals and other stakeholders have complained about various problems in the new portal. Facing some technical problems. All these technical problems have been told to Infosys, the company that made it. The Income Tax Department and the company are trying to solve these problems under the contact.
The Central Government has admitted that so far more than 700 e-mails have been received related to the new e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department, in which more than 2000 complaints have been told. More than 90 different types of problems have come to the fore in the new e-filing website of the Income Tax Department. Tax professionals, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and taxpayers etc. are included in this complaint sent to the government.
