The film ‘Tezaab’ is considered to be a big turning point in Madhuri Dixit’s film career. After this film in 1988, Madhuri became everyone’s first choice. Madhuri made her acting debut in 1984, but not a single film of hers came before ‘Tezaab’. But ‘Tezaab’ turned Madhuri’s fate. The song ‘Ek Do Teen’ from the film was a blockbuster and Madhuri’s dance moves were well received in it. Even today Madhuri and her ‘Ek Do Teen’ dancing style is copied a lot.
But do you know that Madhuri Dixit once went to the theater wearing a burqa to see her song? Madhuri disclosed this in ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. Madhuri recently shot this episode of Kapil Sharma, whose makers have released many promos. Madhuri told that as soon as the song ‘Ek Do Teen’ started on the screen, the audience started throwing coins on the screen.
Kapil Sharma was narrating an anecdote related to Madhuri’s film ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’. She was telling that when she went to see a film in a theater in Amritsar a year after the release of ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’, whenever the song came on the screen, the mirchi lights lit up there.
Hearing this, Madhuri Dixit remembered the anecdote related to the song ‘Ek Do Teen’ from the film ‘Tezaab’. She told that everyone was telling her that her song ‘Ek Do Teen’ has become very popular and it is a lot of fun to watch on screen. So Madhuri also decided to watch her song on the big screen and went to Chandan Cinema. Madhuri told that she herself wanted to see the reaction of the audience and experience it. Madhuri Chandan went to the cinema wearing a burqa and went inside and sat comfortably there.
Madhuri Dixit further added that she was waiting for the song ‘Ek Do Teen’ and as soon as the song played on the screen people started throwing coins from behind on the screen which were hitting our heads.’
‘Tezaab’ was directed by N Chandra. Anil Kapoor was also in the film. The film ran for nearly 50 weeks in theaters and was the highest-grossing film of 1988. On the professional front, Madhuri Dixit will be seen in Netflix’s series ‘The Fame Game’. The web series, releasing on February 25, also stars Sanjay Kapoor and Manav Kaul.
