New Delhi: The film ‘The Kashmir Files’ has been released on March 11. This film is not only making a splash at the box office, but the audience is also unable to hold back their tears after watching this film. Recently, the lead actor of this film Anupam Kher had an exclusive conversation with Zee News. During this interview, the actor told many things related to this film.
It was painful to hear the story
Anupam Kher said in an exclusive conversation with Zee News- ‘When Vivek ji narrated this story to me for the first time, it was painful for me to hear this story in itself because I myself am a Kashmiri Pandit. My father’s name was Pushkar, so I named myself Pushkar in this film. I used to remember my father’s face before every shot, people have to apply glycerin to cry in movies. But my tears were original in this film.
My best film ever
Anupam Kher further said- ‘I have not done this film as an actor. I have played a character remembering Kashmiris in it. I am very happy that this film is getting immense success. In my career of 37 years, I have not seen such enthusiasm among people for any film. I consider it my best film till date.

Mother could not sleep for two days
In this interview, Anupam Kher was asked the question- ‘Some people are telling this film as propaganda. The Kerala Congress had called the incident a terrorist attack rather than a genocide. Said that only 400 Pandits were killed and 15,000 Muslims were killed. Responding to this, the actor said – There are two types of people in the world. Some people just believe in things. I don’t pay attention to those people. My mother watched the film 2 times with me, she herself could not sleep for 2 nights because a similar painful incident happened to my maternal uncle.
This film is the way of return of Kashmiri Pandits
The actor further said- ‘It is a matter of great pleasure that many states have made this film tax free. I thank everyone. The return of Kashmiri Pandits is one way through this film. Change happens gradually. This is the beginning. After every evening there comes a morning and before that morning it is the night which has come.
