Bank Holiday: Diwali (Diwali 2024) is being celebrated in the country and this time there is confusion about this festival of lights. On which day is Diwali to be celebrated, 31 October or 1 November? This time this suspense has been seen regarding the correct date of celebrating the festival.

However, in the Dharmasabha organized by the All India Vidvat Parishad at the Central Sanskrit University of Jaipur, it has been decided unanimously to celebrate Deepawali on 31 October.

Now the question is on which date the banks will be closed on Diwali, then this has been clarified by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

If you look at the RBI’s bank holiday list, then on the occasion of Diwali, both October 31 and November 1 have been declared as Bank Holidays.

But, these holidays in banks are different in different states, the details of which have been shared on the RBI website.

On October 31, banks will remain closed in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Telangana, Itanagar, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Patna, Panaji, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla and Thiruvananthapuram.

On the other hand, Diwali Bank Holiday has also been declared on November 1. On this day, bank branches will remain closed in Agartala, Belapur, Bengaluru, Dehradun, Gangtok, Imphal, Jammu, Mumbai, Nagpur, Shillong and Srinagar.

Along with this, let us tell you that banks will remain closed for 13 days in the month of November. These include second and fourth Saturdays along with Sunday holidays.
