The economy class fare of British Airways’ Delhi-London flight for August 26 was pegged at Rs 3.95 lakh.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked airlines to ensure that the airfare displayed on the metasearch engine website is not higher than the fare shown on their own website. A senior official gave this information on Monday. Secretary in the Inter-State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs, Sanjeev Gupta complained on Twitter that the economy class fare of British Airways’ Delhi-London flight for August 26 was pegged at Rs 3.95 lakh. However, the Civil Aviation Ministry clarified on Sunday that the Delhi-London flight fare during August ranges between Rs 1.03 lakh and Rs 1.47 lakh. A senior DGCA official said on Monday that sometimes the ticket fares on the metasearch engine are higher than the fares shown on the airline’s website, leading to confusion.
