Behind success, along with hard work, there is also a connection of luck. Most people accept this thing. Many times it happens that what we leave as minor, later it proves to be very successful. Same is the case with the glamor industry. Many times successful actors ignore a character as minor, but later that character creates records of success.

Something similar happened regarding the casting of Jethalal, the character of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah serial. Actually Dilip Joshi, who played this character, has become a star. Dilip believes that this character has a big hand behind his success and he considers himself lucky to achieve it. In fact, before Dilip Joshi was selected for this role, there are many big names who were approached to play Jethalal’s character. But he had rejected this offer.

According to media reports, famous actors like Kiku Sharda, Rajpal Yadav, Yogesh Tripathi, Ahsan Qureshi and Ali Asgar were first approached for the role of Jethalal. But all of them had refused to play Jethalal’s character. Although Dilip Joshi played this character with the vigor and then achieved success. After that surely these actors must have regretted their decision.

Recently, a video of Dilip Joshi became the subject of a lot of discussion on social media. In this video, he is seen talking about his career. He had told that he was unemployed for a year before he started working in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah with the character of Jethalal.

In the video, Dilip is saying that I had no work till a year before I signed Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The serial in which I was working went off air. This was a difficult time. I was even thinking of changing my field but by the grace of God I was offered the role of Jethalal.
