In view of this, a yellow alert has been issued for today. On October 6, an orange alert has been issued in view of the possibility of heavy rains. People have been appealed to stay away from the rivers and streams of the state during the rainy season.
The department has issued a red alert on October 7-8 in the Kumaon and Garhwal divisions of Uttarakhand, expressing the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain. After the alert of the Meteorological Department, Uttarakhand Police has issued an advisory appealing to be careful while traveling to the state on these dates. People have been asked to travel to the mountains on these dates if absolutely necessary and to stay away from the landslide-prone areas during the rainy season.

Rain in western UP-Himachal
According to the latest weather update of the Meteorological Department, there will be a period of heavy rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand till October 5-8. Whereas in western Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh, there will be heavy rain on October 6-7. Along with rain, there may be hail in some places.
