Now 2000 challan is being deducted
The Government of India has made changes in the Motor Vehicles Act of 1998. In this, two-wheeler drivers will be fined up to Rs 2000 for not wearing a helmet or not wearing a helmet properly. It means to say that if the bike rider is wearing a helmet, but it is open then he will be fined Rs 1,000. Even if you are wearing a helmet and the head strap is not tight. Even then a fine of Rs 1,000 will be imposed. Overall, the helmet now has to be worn completely properly. If this does not happen then you will be invoiced for Rs.2000.
It is very important to have ISI mark on the helmet.
1,000 fine can be imposed if the helmet does not have the BSI (Bureau of Indian Standards – ISI) mark. Therefore, while driving a bike-scooter, only ISI marked helmet should be worn. If this does not happen then a fine of Rs 1,000 will be imposed under section 194D MVA of the Motor Vehicle Act. However, Delhi Police is currently issuing challans of Rs 1000 to people.
