According to the new rules, if you are caught for the first time, you can be fined Rs 10,000 and also jailed for 6 months. On the other hand, if you make the same mistake again, then you can be fined Rs 15,000 and jailed for up to 2 years. Earlier there was a provision of a fine of only Rs 1000 to 1500.
Strictness on driving without helmet and seat belt
At the same time, the rules have also been tightened for two-wheeler drivers. Now a fine of Rs 1,000 will be imposed for driving without a helmet. Along with this, the license will also be suspended for three months. At the same time, a fine of Rs 1,000 will be imposed for not wearing a seat belt in the car. Using a mobile phone while driving can now prove to be even more expensive. Earlier its fine was Rs 500. Which has now been increased to Rs 5,000.
A hefty fine will be imposed if there is no insurance
A fine of Rs 2,000 will be imposed if the vehicle is not insured. A fine of Rs 5,000 will have to be paid if there is no driving license. A fine of Rs 4,000 will be imposed for repeatedly violating insurance.
