Traffic Challan Rules: Big News! If you write this on your vehicle, you will be fined this much, know the rules

Motor Vehicles Act: Before getting anything written on your vehicle, know the rules of the Motor Vehicles Act, otherwise you may have to pay a challan.

Traffic Rules: You must have seen many types of vehicles while driving on the road in which different Shayari, slogans are written or words related to religion, caste are written on the number plate. People spend lakhs of rupees on the number plate so that it looks fancy. But do you know that doing all this can cost you heavily under the Motor Vehicles Act. If you have got something written on the back of your vehicle or on the name plate, then be careful today itself, otherwise you may have to pay a challan.

What is the rule?

Under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, writing objectionable words on the vehicle is a violation of the rules. In such a situation, the driver can be challaned. Under the Act, 1988, it is illegal to write words related to caste or religion or put any sticker on vehicles.

How much fine will have to be paid?

If religion, caste or some objectionable word is written on your vehicle too, then you may have to pay a fine of up to Rs 1,000 for this. In the Motor Vehicle Act that came in 2023, writing anything related to caste or religion on the number plate of the vehicle has been declared completely illegal. For doing this, you may have to pay a fine of up to Rs 5,000.
