In such a situation, the government is diligently checking the PUC certificate of vehicles to prevent pollution caused by vehicles here. Last Friday, the police took strict action against vehicles running without PUC certificate. And a total fine of Rs 4.85 crore was imposed on 4,855 vehicles.
If you also drive a vehicle, then check once whether the PUC certificate of your vehicle has expired or not. Because there is a provision of challan up to Rs 10,000 if caught driving a vehicle without a valid PUC certificate. There is a provision of a fine of Rs 1,000 for the first time if caught driving without a valid PUC and a fine of up to Rs 2,000 for the second time. But the Transport Department also says that if the driver does not present the PUC certificate, then there can be a fine of up to Rs 10,000 or jail up to 6 months or both.
How to get a PUC certificate: You do not need to worry much about getting a certificate. This facility is easily available at petrol pumps.
PUC Certificate Center: Pollution checking centers have been set up at every petrol pump. Where you will have to get your vehicle’s pollution level checked and after that you will get a certificate.
How much is the fee: Its fee is approximately Rs 110 for a car and Rs 80 for two-wheelers.
