Traffic Challan Updte: Now police will not be able to issue challan to vehicles at night, order issued to traffic police

Gurugram Police will no longer be able to issue challans to vehicles at night. After receiving complaints of alleged harassment of drivers at night, DCP Traffic has ordered not to issue challans to vehicles at night.

Gurugram Police will no longer be able to issue challans to vehicles at night. After receiving complaints of allegedly harassing drivers at night in the name of challans, DCP Traffic has given instructions not to issue challans to vehicles at night. So that drivers do not face any kind of trouble at night. Police personnel have been warned that strict action will be taken if the instructions are not followed. However, the police will continue to be strict on those who drive vehicles after drinking alcohol at night.

In the letter issued by DCP Traffic Virendra Vij, it has been said that if necessary, permission of higher officials will have to be taken, only after which the challan can be issued.

DCP Virendra Vij said in a letter written on May 28, “Traffic inspectors are ordered to order all the employees appointed under them in their jurisdiction that no vehicle should be stopped at night and no challan should be issued. If it is very necessary to issue a challan to a driver as per the Motor Vehicle Act, then in that case, the challan of that vehicle should be issued as per the rules only after bringing it to the notice of the concerned gazetted officer / undersigned and obtaining permission.”

The DCP has also warned that if any policeman does not follow the rules, strict action will be taken against him. It has been said in the letter that the orders should be strictly followed. In case of negligence and carelessness, strict departmental action will be taken against the concerned traffic police officer as per the rules with immediate effect.

Night traffic police personnel were deployed in Gurugram district to ensure smooth traffic at night and to resolve the inconveniences faced by common people during road travel. The letter states that “But it has come to my notice that the traffic police personnel deployed at night are harassing the common people by unnecessarily stopping their vehicles and are also unnecessarily challaning the vehicles.”

Virendra Vij further said that the job of traffic personnel deployed at night is to help the common people and drivers and to arrange for a safe route in case of a road accident.

The letter states that the traffic personnel deployed at night should play an important role as Gurugram Traffic Police by guiding and helping the common people and drivers and arranging safe routes to take them to their destination and in case of a road accident, the injured persons should be immediately admitted to the nearest trauma center and the accident vehicles should be immediately removed from the main road and the traffic should be allowed to run smoothly. However, after this order of the DCP of Gurugram Traffic Police, people have started flouting the traffic rules. It is often seen that people drive at high speed and recklessly on the roads of Gurugram at night, leading to accidents.

DCP Virendra Vij said that the traffic police will continue to be strict against those who drive after drinking alcohol at night, so that no major accident occurs.

It is worth noting that three to four days a week, the traffic police conducts campaigns in various areas at night and takes action against those who drive after drinking alcohol. Most of the careless drivers on the roads of the Millennium City violate the rules and drive at night. Apart from this, stunt reels are also made at night.
