Vehicle modification is also included in the list of rule breakers. However, many people are not aware of this. In such a situation, strict action is also taken against them. There is also a provision for cancelling people’s driving licenses and punishment. In such a situation, if you have also done any kind of modification in your bike, then you need to be cautious. In such a situation, a challan of up to 25 thousand rupees can be issued.
Actually, whenever you are going to get any kind of modification done in your two-wheeler or four-wheeler, then first of all you have to take permission from the Regional Transport Office. During modification, you can use only those parts in your vehicle which are approved by the Automotive Research Authority of India (ARAI). Here we are telling 3 conditions of modification. Due to which you can get a hefty challan.
1. Challan on sound silencer
Many times people also modify the silencer of their motorcycle. Often the craze of silencer used in Royal Enfield Bullet is seen more. People get such silencer installed in the bike which makes a loud sound or firecrackers are fired from it. Police can catch you if you use such silencer. Also, a heavy challan will be imposed on you.
2. Challan on fancy number plate too
Using any kind of fancy number plate in vehicles is illegal. The government has fixed a style sheet for number plates. Under this, all the digits on the number plate should be clearly visible and they should not be written in a fancy way. Always use number plate certified by RTO.
3. Heavy fine for modification
It is also illegal to modify a motorcycle or scooter. These days the traffic police is catching modified motorcycles and challaning them. Under the new traffic rules, modifications to any vehicle are illegal. You can be fined for this. The bike can also be confiscated.
