PUC certificate required
Now if you drive a car or bike then you must have understood which certificate we are talking about here. Actually, here we are talking about PUC certificate, which is called pollution certificate in common language. If you drive without it, a challan of Rs 10,000 can be issued to you. There is a provision for this in the Motor Vehicle Act and whenever the pollution certificate expires, it is necessary to make it immediately.
Make a certificate like this
This PUC certificate for a car is valid for one year, whereas for a bike it is valid for three months. Every three months you have to get a new PUC made. If you do not do this, the police can issue you a heavy challan. Its fee is around Rs 100 for a car and Rs 70 or Rs 80 for a bike or scooter. It takes only about five to 10 minutes to make the pollution certificate.
To make a pollution certificate, you have to go to the PUC center, which you will get at all the petrol pumps. Here your vehicle is checked and then a pollution certificate is given. PUC is not made for the vehicle whose pollution level is high. If you too have not got this certificate made yet, then do it immediately, otherwise you will have to pay a heavy fine.
